Join A Creative Adventure tour leader, Donna Bourdon for a one-of -a-kind creative flower workshop. During these five days, she will spend some time going into detail explaining her thoughts and visions for flower photography before beginning the in-the-field sessions. After the photo shoot a visit to the digital darkroom aka our floral atelier- this is where the magic happens. Each photo needs to be nurtured from the time of capture until the time it is revealed. The way you choose to process an image can make or break it. Let Donna guide you through the myriad of ideas and techniques that are based my on my eBooks, The Softer Side of Macro and Bloomin” Ideas.

Donna will share a variety of post processing steps that will help you make the most of each capture. Photoshop and post-processing will all be demonstrated. You will need to bring a laptop, as image sharing/review is paramount during this portion of the program.

Donna has secured an extremely large, private flower field with thousands of dahlias in a vast array of colors, sizes and forms. Loads of different varieties for every palette; this will be a unique location with loads of privacy. The dahlia grower is one of the top growers in the southeast. She also has an alternate farm that can be visited. Donna has been growing dahlias for over 30 years herself, she is a member of the American Dahlia Society and the Tennessee Dahlia Society. Her local knowledge of the area will be very helpful to those wishing to see a bit of Chattanooga on their own before or after the workshop. Chattanooga, a city in southeastern Tennessee, is set along the Tennessee River in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, so there is a lot of exploring to do.

The post processing will be done at the hotel (a detailed pdf with hotel, gear, etc. will be sent once the entire group is together). This workshop will be geared towards all levels of photographers, though basic knowledge of Photoshop layers and masks is very helpful.

Meet & Greet on September 22nd at 12:00 noon at the hotel for an informal meet up and slide program. Followed by a late afternoon shoot.

Morning photo session in the field followed by a lunch break, then classroom session followed by a late afternoon photo session. This itinerary is subject to change due to local conditions. On the last day September 26th we will have just a morning shoot.
