Taking the Long Way Home

My day started with all kinds of plans that ended up cancelling out. It occurred to me as I was driving home from my recent CPR class (renewal) that I am always in a hurry. I never stop along the way or go a different route. But today was different. I longed for a journey or an adventure. I enjoyed a certain kind of freedom that came with being behind the wheel. I liked the idea of a new path…so I took one. I drove a road and followed a course that I almost never do; I remember saying to myself, it’s ok if you get lost, you have nowhere that you need to be…

By the time I got home I was tired of driving, and I had a bunch of things to get done for the day. I remember the music from earlier and it played in my head as I was busy getting my work done. It made me smile…

I loved this sow from my recent trip. She had a beautiful blonde collar and two of the cutest cubs-only one pictured here. Sony 200-600mm lens, handheld. Everyone of my experiences with Coastal Brown Bears in Alaska have left me smiling. I couldn’t help but think of these bears and the fantastic time I just spent with them. I am already planning next year’s visit.
